But it's not as evident as it may looks.

Flashback

2019

The storm hit the stadium. A mini tornado with terrible gusts and heavy rain. The athletes who were on the track were stranded and suffered all the violence of this rain which in a few minutes flooded the track.
Under the gazebo all the athletes took refuge in the four corners of the stadium, holding the 4 pillars tight to prevent everything from blowing away. It was dark cold and it was only 3:45 p.m.!

We spent 45 minutes underwater. All the vaubans with the banners were lying down, the flags of the countries too. In the stadium grands everyone huddled in the center, incredulous of the "apocalyptic spectacle" they were witnessing.

Vinco, stopped live broadcasting right after letting people know through social media what was going on. The material was narrowly saved.
The temperature dropped and it is as if time had stopped because many are those who in full competition had not had time to go to collect their belongings.

We therefore canceled the rest of the competition, as all the electronic equipment could not guarantee to work. A big delusion for the organizers and also for the athletes who had bet this start of the season on our competition.
We noticed the damage: mostly destroyed tents and other small equipment, but fortunately no accidents or injuries.

Never seen.

2020

The 2020 edition was to be that of "thank you, we paid our tribute", and of "we have sacrificed an edition, now we will be able to offer a grandiose meeting, a stage in view of the Tokyo Olympic Games" .... but that was without counting on the pandemic!

Who could have imagined that the edition would not even take place?

In April, in view of increasingly severe restrictions and lockdowns, we canceled the 33rd edition. We didn't have the option of postponing until later in the season, as some other meetings have done.

But, we were there, somehow !

A lost year?

No, definitely not. 2020 has allowed us to make a very significant number of improvements.

We have structured our committee, distributed new tasks, invested in the development of a volunteer management platform, redesigned our logo and all the visual identity. Redesigned a new website with a section reserved for members to post all important documents and information, file follow-ups, agendas and meeting minutes, etc.

We have redefined our sponsorship concept and strengthened links with other members of the EAP circuit by developing a search platform for meetings in Europe and around the world. We also participated in the development of a new full meeting management platform.

We have followed an I Run Clean® training, according to the requirements of the EAP circuit and the code of conduct. So this year 2020 was a very active year of transition, with many projects completed and always a strong motivation and passion.

2021

We are ready, ... even in difficult conditions since the pandemic has not yet been brought under control.

The meeting has been confirmed and registration has just opened. Of course, we would have hoped to be able to welcome more spectators and more athletes, but the restrictions require us to respect a certain number of rules.

But here we are, on the track, and we assure you that it will burn under the performance of the athletes!
