Who we are

We are the ATLETICAGENEVE association, headquartered in Geneva (Switzerland).

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Transparency is important to us. By contacting us online, or registering as an athlete, coach, medical or fitness assistant, athlete’s relatives, athlete’s manager, athletics federation, sports or local or in general media, volunteer, partner or sponsor, or by giving us your paper-based or digital business card, you consent that we process your personal data, insofar the processes are proportionate to the agreed upon objectives.

You also consent that we eventually send to you email messages and Newsletters with news and information related to our annual event (email messages max. ~ 3-4 times per year, without commercial purposes), unless you withdraw your consent to these mailings at a later date. This consent can be changed or revoked at any time.

Your Comments – Contact Form

When our website visitors leave comments on the website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and could collect also from time to time metadata (e.g. the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection). This data and related metadata are deleted from our systems after the maximum legal duration in Switzerland.

Media

If eventually, our website visitors upload media to the website, we process the personal data included in these images as well as any related metadata (e.g. embedded location data, in EXIF or GPS format), only insofar as to republish it on our website, and only during the maximum duration authorised by Swiss laws.

Cookies

Cookies are little pieces of information that our website stores on the system you are using for visiting our website. All cookies that our website stores on your system are cookies technically needed to perform a safe and confortable journey visiting the website.

Who we share your data with / Where we send your data:

We do not share your data in a structured and intentional way with any party outside the ATLETICAGENEVE association. One exception would be that your visitors’ comments transmitted through the contact from may be forwarded from time to time, to be technically checked, through an automated spam detection service.

How long we retain your data:

In all cases that we receive your personal data on computing devices in our control, we keep them at the maximum as long as authorised by the Swiss Privacy laws and regulations.

What rights you have over your data:

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, except if we still need this data for our legitimate purposes. So this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data:

We always protect your data with current and proportionate state-of-the-art technical measures and appropriate process governance and enforcement thereof, as requested by Swiss laws and regulations. Our data breach procedures are part of the above processes.

What third parties we receive data from:

We do not receive data from any 3rd parties ; all the data we process about you have ultimately being communicated to us by yourself, or by other people appointed by yourself.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data:

We never process your data in any automated way; all data processing by us is made directly by our staff.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements:

In our industry of athletics sports’ events, the industry regulatory requirements to manage some of your personal data when you are an athlete, like official performance measurements, antidoping controls …, are fulfilled by other official parties using their own information systems, and not ours.

Co-founder of the EAP (Events for Athletics Promotion) circuit, ATLETICAGENEVE is a meeting where athletes adhere to the EAP Code of Conduct on the basis of the participation of athletes who do not cheat in any way.
