ATLETICAGENEVE 2024REGISTER

Geneva, 1st May 2024

On this first of May, while we celebrate work, we are only a few days away from May 6 and therefore... from the opening of the long-awaited registrations for the international athletics meeting in Geneva: ATLETICAGENEVE!
We will gradually communicate to you the renowned entrants that you will be able to come and see on June 22.

But in the meantime, the Geneva athletic movement is already very active with several competitions having already been organized on the magical Bout-du-Monde track.
However, our eyes are currently fixed on the World Relay Championships which take place in the Bahamas on May 4 and 5, with the relays of the Swiss 4x100m team to follow in particular our Geneva athletes Felix Svensson and Timothé Mumenthaler!

We will then find them at ATLETICAGENEVE on June 22.

It's also today the occasion to proudly show our 2024 bibs, with our new sponsor "Groupe Chevalley . Votre partenaire Mercedes".

We also took the opportunity to use one of our early entries, Marleen Mülla, the Estonian pole vaulter, only aged 22 and alreae 7 times national champion (4 outdoors and 3 indoors). Marleen actually trains in the USA. She holds the Estonian national record with 4.55i. In 2018, Marleen was 4th at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires 2028. On the next year she did not perform as expected at the World University games in Naples where she she could not be qualified for the final (N.H.) and then she finished "only" 18th and the U20 European Championships in Borås (SWE) with "only" 3.90. Last year, in 2023, she finished brilliant 5th at the U23 European Championships in Espoo (FIN).
Marleen is certainly one of the top pole vaulter in the world in the near future. Follow her on Instagram @mullapv or on Youtube.  Come and see her in Geneva !

The reflection of this May Day goes directly to all those who work voluntarily during these free days (in many regions and countries), taking responsibility and allowing the sports movement to exist and develop. On this first of May, it's not a rest. Who on the stadiums rakes the sand, measures heights or distributes bibs, even drives the athletes by car or minibus, who behind the screens organizes, structures, prepares competitions or manages clubs. Volunteers receive a "thank you" at best and are satisfied with a smile from an athlete or a handshake at the end of a competition. It is the hope of a simple recognition or a gesture which is the only salary for tens of thousands of volunteers around the world.
The desire to do well for others and the hope that this will be seen.
Let us never forget to thank and celebrate our volunteers. They are the real champions!
Happy May 1st everyone!
